About the role
This role is perfect for someone who is seeking to join a team of driven and entrepreneurial professionals in the financial services industry and wants to work closely with senior management to build on their skill set.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for managing recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and HR processes to support both employees and organizational goals. You will play a vital role in maintaining employee trust and satisfaction.

Reports To Chief Operating Officer
Salary Range: $50,000 – $80,000
This is a new position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Strive Culture Champion:
- Measure morale across the company – Annual survey / NPS (Quarterly).
- Promote physical and mental health.
- Coordinate training sessions and seminars, employee engagement initiatives and performance review processes.
- Continue to make Strive a “Better Employment Experience” by promoting respect, transparency, accountability, and collaboration.
2. Recruitment and Hiring:
- Job Posting: Create and post job advertisements to attract candidates.
- Screening: Review resumes, conduct interviews, and perform background checks to select suitable candidates.
- Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and training.
- Offboarding: When an employee leaves, manage the exit interviews, procedures, ensuring proper documentation and knowledge transfer.
3. Employee Relations:
- Support: Act as a liaison between employees and management to address workplace issues, resolve conflicts and provide guidance on policies.
- Engagement: Foster a positive work environment by promoting employee engagement and satisfaction.
4. Compensation and Benefits:
- Payroll Processing: Act as a backup to calculate and distribute employee salaries, bonuses and deductions accurately and on schedule. This includes managing overtime, commissions and other pay adjustments
- Reporting: Act as a backup to generate payroll reports for management, finance, and auditors.
5. Compliance and Record Keeping:
- Legal Compliance: Follow Canadian labour laws in all provinces.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation to support compliance and reporting requirements.
Confidentiality and Regulatory
Maintain employee, customer and partner confidentiality as described by Strive’s Employee Code of Conduct.
You will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or psychology, or a related field, combined with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
- High ethical standards to handle sensitive employee information responsibly.
- Well-developed communication and interactive skills, verbal and written, sufficient to provide clear and detailed explanation and interpretation of information, analysis, and recommendations.
- Self-driven, motivated with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a high-energy, results driven environment.
- Proficient in Word, Excel skills, and knowledge of PC software tools in a Windows environment.
Nice to have but not required
- Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset.
- HR certification programs designed to improve professional competencies.
Employment Type
Full time with hours of operation being 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 pm EST (currently remote and in-person hybrid working environment).
